Alcohol/drugs
About 60 percent of U.S. adults drink alcohol and roughly 1 in 5 of those suffer from an Alcohol Use Disorder (alcoholism) according to a study published in the Journal of American Medical Association Psychiatry in 2017. The use of alcohol comes with the risk of alcohol poisoning as well as drinking and driving. The only way to avoid these problems completely is to abstain from alcohol use.
If you want to have a future free of alcohol and drugs you need to focus on doing good things that make you happy instead of seeking pleasure from substances. Once you are hooked on alcohol or drugs you are in trouble. The best way is never to start.
