Gambling
The lure of quick and easy money leads many people to gamble with their money. The problem is that on average with gambling you lose money. Addicts may gamble money that should be going to pay rent or buy food. Problem gamblers have a high incidence of depression.
The best recommendation is to abstain from gambling and get counselling if you have a problem with it. Focus on obtaining money by working or investing instead of hoping for a windfall from gambling.
The average at-risk gambler loses $3,000 annually and the average recreational gambler loses $500 annually.
