Smoking

Would you like to spend an average of $80,000 and take an average of more than 10 years off of your life?  If so, take up smoking.  That is an estimate of the averages of 11 cigarettes per day of $8 per pack of 20 cigarettes for 50 years.  

I strongly recommend against ever trying a cigarette or vaping or any other nicotine product.  The reason is that nicotine is a very powerful addiction.  If you are already addicted to nicotine I strongly recommend quitting by setting a date to go off cigarettes cold turkey, using nicotine patches and getting counselling.  These are the leading strategies for quitting so your maximum chance of success will come from using them all simultaneously.  If you have to spend some money to quit it will likely be worth if in the long run because of all of the money you will save by quitting.  Focus on always breathing the cleanest air you can.

Other reasons to quit include your clothes smelling better, preventing your loved ones from being exposed to secondhand smoke, and reducing the risk of fire.  It is not just that you will prolong your life but you will also help avoid a horrible death.
